King Street near the Plaza (Then & Now)

The postcard here is looking west on King Steet from alongside the plaza, not far from the river and its bridge to Anastasia, which in 1900 was not the Bridge of Lions but a wooden bridge with a trolley line. Note the trolley tracks on King Street here. They ran from the area of the Florida East Coast Rail Road station near King and Malaga.

Confidence in location accuracy: 100%

See for yourself: stand in the road in front of Two Sparrows (21 King Street) and look west toward Flagler College.

We offer a beautiful reproduction postcard of the older image here. The price includes a 51-cent "forever" postcard stamp.
